In light of the changes to Covid rules from Monday, we thought we would update you on Otters Return to Pool Protocol changes.

Our priorities have not changed and we will continue to focus on keeping our swimmers, parents and volunteers as safe.

During the summer holidays we would ask all swimmers to continue to arrive at the pool ‘pool ready – costumes on’. We will also continue to line up outside beforehand to reduce the time spent indoors.

Sessions will continue to finish as they currently do, and we ask swimmers to shower and change at home.

Swimmers must continue to arrive wearing face masks and sanitize as usual.  The Otters team will also continue to arrive wearing face masks and continue to wear masks pool side for the foreseeable future.

What has changed - The one-way system at the pool is to be removed from Monday and parents can return to spectate all of our sessions. We encourage parents to wear masks and social distance given the rising rates.  We have adjusted our Covid risk assessment to take accommodate of the changes.

We will no longer use individual markers around the pool for social distancing but we will continue to use the positions around the poolside where each lane will call ‘home’ during a session.  There will be no restrictions in what we can do within training, we look forward to the sessions returning to some form of ‘normal’ training.

It is still a legal requirement to self-isolate when advised to and during this time your swimmer should not attend training sessions.

We will communicate again before September regarding updated sessions and training days and any further updates to our poolside protocols.

Thanks so much in advance for all your support and appreciation during the last 16 months.
