About Ormskirk & District Amateur Swimming Club

Ormskirk Otters were founded by a band of enthusiatic parents in the Spring of 1975, a year after Ormskirk Park Pool opened.

The Club was originally formed as a teaching club and has developed over the years into a strong competitive club with a membership of around 250. Children normally enter the club from age 5, with classes in a shallow pool, although older children who are already swimmers may be accepted subject to a trial. There is also a class in the shallow pool for mature persons, some of whom aim to medically benefit from the exercise.
