Echo Cup 2013 -   still awaiting updates of team swims and any disqualifications: all individual times updated, team sheet to follow.

However I have received the disappointing news that despite some fantastic swims on Saturday we were up against tough opposition and did not earn enough top places to earn the points to qualify. Overall we finished in 9th position. The points below show the teams that have qualified and their points achieved. I would like to say a massive thank you to those swimmers that attended either or both galas. There were some massive asks of 9 year old swimmers swimming up an age group and some swimmers that has to swim on average 8 swims per gala due to team strengths and availability. The behaviour poolside on Saturday also was fantastic, with all swimmers supporting one another, keeping their area tidy and excellent behaviour, representing the club.

We had a weaker team than I would have liked in the first round mainly due to holidays. As most of you know we donÆt have a massive squad compared to some other local clubs and although this sometimes gives swimmers the opportunity to attend meets it can also go against us when facing bigger stronger teams. The Echo Cup final is a great day out and IÆm sure you all share my disappointment in not reaching the final.

Well done in your sterling performances. LetÆs learn from any errors made: feedback from coaches where needed. ItÆs a great opportunity for competing against our local peers and gaining competition experience.

A big thank you for all those parents that attended changed plans to get swimmers there, and the poolside team for all your help.
